The Christmas season has passed and a new year has begun; its now time to return to work, prepare to take down the decorations and begin to lose the pounds we gained from eating our favourite comfort foods.

I had never planned to enter a beauty pageant but one doesn’t always know what’s around the corner, the opportunity that comes our way and sometime the life changing experiences, fate may have a lot to with this. I decided to compete for the title of Miss Jamaica Universe (MJU) because I wanted to use this platform to make a difference in my country.
