I’d say the best thing is to make a plan. Ask yourself, when do you want to finish your studies? How much do you want to travel as a model? Plus, when you are working as a model you should be prepared to wait all the time, so while you wait, why not utilize that time for reading and studying, and educating yourself.
I walked the catwalk for several brands, I have been a model for three editions at the show of Bread & Butter, also for brands of perfumes and clothes. I posed for several national and international professional photographers and worked as an actress in video clips, TV spots and in TV series and movies.

Uriel doesn’t consider himself as a sexy man, he probably leaves this adjective to the bunch of women who faint to prove the opposite. This charming, smiling dark haired man admits he keeps himself fit “Doing exercise and eating Mexican tacos and chocolates”, and confesses that when he was a child he used to play the kitchen skillets as a drum kit.
Jelle won the first prize in the competition for the international Dance Music Awards 2009(IDMA) in Miami. The concept of the video is a rather abstract one; contrasts between black and white, various types of dance, falling, round forms and the use of diamants. The narrative breathes romance. The two models Bart Dors and Eva Beurskens are the protagonists in a love story.
I had never planned to enter a beauty pageant but one doesn’t always know what’s around the corner, the opportunity that comes our way and sometime the life changing experiences, fate may have a lot to with this. I decided to compete for the title of Miss Jamaica Universe (MJU) because I wanted to use this platform to make a difference in my country.
What is your opinion on online platforms such as modelmanagement.com?
I like those platforms. I think they are very useful, especially for newcomers, who like to inform themselves and get in touch with others. It helps them to understand what it means to be a model. Another thing I particularly like about modelmanagement.com is that photographers and agencies use the site for their purposes too. The combination of models, photographers and agencies is quite appealing and unique to me. It’s something I haven’t seen that often.
