About Tina
I have officially been working in the fashion industry for 15 years. Unofficially? It all started when I was given a Cindy doll on my sixth birthday (a niche brand supporter from the outset, I didn’t want a Barbie like everybody else). Not satisfied with the selection of outfits on offer I set about drawing ones of my own, and a stylist was born. Travelling and studying music sparked complementary passions, and after a business degree and many years working in the buying offices of mega brands like Louis Vuitton, Esprit, & Marcs Australia, I founded the style bar and now freelance as a fashion stylist, writer and translator. My other loves? Practicing flamenco on my rooftop, listening to jazz, and enjoying the simple things in life: a cheeky glass of wine, great food, and stimulating conversation.

What is it about film makers and their fascination with the fashion industry? And I am not referring to who they will choose to design the wardrobes for their film, which these days can mean an immediate interest and an increased chance of box office success if chosen well and with the movie’s target demographic in mind. I am talking about the constant need to satirise, send up and generally poke fun at models, magazine editors and the whole business of presenting and selling clothes to the general public, in new and even more demeaning ways.
