About April Jackson
April Jackson was born in London, England to Jamaican parents on April 4, 1989. After travelling to Jamaica regularly since she was six weeks old she moved there permanently at the age of eight. April fulfilled her dream and graduated Valedictorian with nine C.X.C subjects. At sixteen, she went to England to complete her A levels, it was during this time that she embarked upon her first pageant and won Miss Jamaica UK 2006. Being Miss Jamaica UK enabled April to show the pride she has for her country and be a positive role model for many. Some of her best moments include modelling for couture designer Adebayo Jones, participating in Lambeth’s celebration of the bicentennial year of the abolishment of slavery and being of the front cover of Positive People Magazine with a four page spread. Attaining this title opened the doors, which lead to her decision to enter the competition for Miss Jamaica Universe. As Miss Jamaica Universe 2008, April has contributed to positive change amongst youth as a member of the board of Denham Town High School and founder of Give Children A Future (GCAF) Foundation.
