We are oh so exited at modelmanagement.com HQ today as we get to talk fashion, style and modelling with no other than rock star/dj/model and music diva Scarlett Etienne!

-Hi Scarlett, congratulations on your new fabulous video! You look stunning as usual, we love the music and we absolutely love the fashion!!! Tell us a bit about the pieces.
Thank you so much! Well, I have fashion stylist extraordinaire Claudia Behnke to thank for the beautiful styling. I was introduced to Claudia by a lovely designer called Marko Mitanovski, who also lent us some stunning pieces for the video.

I also asked Matthew Williamson if I could borrow some one-off pieces from the archive, and he was so kind to lend them to me. Matthew’s exquisite sequin bangles really did give me sequin burn!! I saw that stunning mirror leotard on the runway when I was at his show a couple years ago and I thought to myself “I’d really love to use that a music video one of these days…!! Apparently there were only 2 ever made, and Beyonce has the other one!

-We saw you rocking the front row at Matthew Williamson’s show in London this season and on his book. What was the show like?

It was breathtaking! The show was at the Battersea Power Station, which was such an iconic backdrop for the clothes. His dresses and jumpsuits always make me swoon. This collection was all about the sexy cool girl who gets shipwrecked and goes to live with nature, so fun and free! The music was to die for as well, Hanna Hanra really outdid herself this time. I just love her runway soundtracks.

-Do you use a stylist or do you put your looks together yourself?
Bit of both, really. Peter T Breen is also a stylist I’ve worked with, but he is now focusing on film-making It’s great that he’s had the styling background because when we’ve been shooting alone, he has been able to give very good styling direction, which is what happened on our first video (Serious). I will most certainly give Claudia a call on my next big video project.

I love working with stylist on shoots to create an otherworldly image. Remember the gorgeous shoot you featured in our interview last year that was styled by Aiden Connor? The thing about using a stylist is that they can introduce you to new designers and put you into looks that you wouldn’t have normally tried on your own. Claudia introduced me to the world of Milko Boyarov’s jewellery, and wow, am I ever obsessed with it now!

-Through your fabulous work you do quite a bit of modelling, tell us your tips and tricks on posing and making luuuurve to the camera.
Try not to think too much about being on a shoot. Just pretend you’re on a beach and Brazil and you see a hot guy that you really fancy and want to get his attention without looking like you’re trying.

-Who is your favourite model? My favourite model is my muse, Lee Bridgman. Not only is he a model, but he also dances beautifully and sings. He’s an absolute stunner. He’s the beautiful dancer in my new video.

-What are your beauty tips?
Red lipstick sorts your life out.

-You have an amazing and super healthy looking body! What’s your personal care and exercise routine like?
I drink water till my teeth float, get facials at Vaishaly on Paddington Street once a month, and do Bikram Yoga like it’s goin’ out of style. I also do a Dr. Sebagh anti-pollution mask before and after every performance. It’s can be a saviour to international DJ/pop star skin!

-What beauty products do you swear by?
Creme de La Mer, as well as Skinceuticals Vitamin C+E Ferulic serum. Absolutely essential for glowing skin.

-What is your favourite trend this season?
Emerald Green. It’s been all over the red carpet. It’s such a flattering jewel tone.

-What would we never see you wearing?
Hate. And Ugg Boots.

-What’s the best style tip that someone’s ever given you?
My friend Livia Bernardini drives a Vespa and when I got mine recently, she told me “Always, always wear high heels when you’re driving around London, darling. Image is everything”. And trust me, I most certainly do!

Thank you Scarlett, we love your work and we can’t wait to see your fabulous upcoming fashion line!!!
