Sweet, colourful candybars and lollipops are often used as an inspiration for hair, make-up and clothes. In the Sixties, mini dresses with their square, round, or fluid movement prints already gave off a candy association, but the creatives of our time have really used their sweetest dreams to get to the following outcome.
If there is one thing that the team of Victoria’s Secret has all figured out, it’s touching imagination. With their playful themes and amazing decors, props and lingerie installations, their show is always a highlight in the fashion agenda. One of the themes of their 2005 show was Sexy Delicious, and well, that’s exactly how it was.
Fashion designers get their sugar kicks from material use, colours and prints, and hair and make up styles.
Okok, make up wise this style is only recommended for shoots, on stage, or for a dress up event (I know what you’ll be wearing next Carnaval..) but it is definitely fun to watch!
So now let’s take it alll just a bit further and join Katy Perry in Candy Land for her music video California Gurls ft. Snoop Dogg. Making videos like this one must be a lot of fun for custome designers, hair and make up artists and set designers, who can let their imagination run free. And ow how I love post-production!!
Here you can see the Music Video of California Gurls and below that you’ll find the song performed live at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Show. Sweet!
