This is a post about ’skellingtons’ and fashion.

Yup, it’s time to start chewing on yer bones, or so it seems, as skeletons -and death- are ‘dead’ trendy.

They are seen all over the haute couture catwalks, as we saw them at Gaultier and Givenchy with even burlesque star Dita von Teese playing the lovely bones as you can see here in my post for
The Wam Bam Blog.

Calaveras (that’s skeletons in Spanish fer ya English folks) remind me of Frida Kahlo – Riccardo Tisci’s
inspiration for Givenchy’s fab haute couture collection – you can see it here in my review of Paris Couture Fashion Week for The Model Management Blog.

One of Tisci’s dresses looks exactly like one of my favourite Frida paintings, called: ‘The Broken
Column’. If you are into Frida and art, check out the post I just wrote for the SMV Mag called

I am telling you, these things are trendy…

…and you know what? The trend is not likely to fade away during the summer, au contraire, expect
to see plenty of calaveras running around town, waaaaay before Halloween.

Poor skeletons! They are going to be so passe come October 31. They are going to be the ones that are gonna have to dress up, ha!

I am not sure about the skeleton leggings, not past your 20’s I woudn’t. But they’d rock at science and anatomy classes at school, hey? Argh, kids of today, eh! So unfair…

I am liking the gold skellington of that dead fella, which looks like once it may have had some fabulous
bit o’ fur on him! I wonder if you get that separately. Hmmm, tempting. Jeeves, bring me my cheque book will ya!
