by

One of the trends that has been brewing for a while now and that I am totally diggin’ is the socks trend. Ever since Carrie appeared wearing those fab over knee socks in S&TC…

…followed by the fab Alexa Chung who dons them fabulously too…

…socks have been featuring more and more in the fashion scene and this season even more so, they are all over the catwalk:

From Burberry to Louis Vuitton, everyone seems to be rocking their socks off!

Whilst it was all about overknees at the beginning, they now come shorter for Spring and
they can be seen not only on the catwalk but also on fashionistas, models, celebs and on
our favourite IT girls everywhere in the world.

And it doesn’t just stop at socks, let me tell you. Tights have also been one of the hottest style
statements recently. With super sexy key designs like the fabulous and oh-so-coveted “Medallion
tights” by Wolford … (sadly so out of stock now!!)

… or these super cute heart print overknee tights from TOPSHOP…

… or the fab range by House of Holland for Pretty Polly…

… or even with some simple animal print tights, you can really add some punch to your outfit and totally transform your look!

A clever girl who really knows about the power of hosiery is the fabulous Blogger/Model/IT Girl: Rumi Neely. Here are some fab examples of how she rules with hers:

So, don’t underestimate the power of your socks this season and get yourself a cute couple of pairs to wear with your fave heels and rock this fabulous trend. If you are not sure where to look for a cute pair, check out Wolford, Urban Outfitters, Topshop and American Apparel where you’ll find some really cool styles.

And for the boys? Well, that’s a WHOLE different story altogether!

Whilst it is all about socks for the girls this season, for the boys seems to be all about going commando this spring summer (wait! in the socks department that is!) and we girls absolutely LOVE THE LOOK!!! Don’t we girls?

Here are some of the most stylish shots of guys sporting shoes with no socks (including Beckham!) :)

This look is totally mastered by the sartorial institution that is Mr George Lamb, one of my favourite style icons. I will never forget seeing him wearing his trousers cropped and turned up, his fabulous worn-in brogues with no socks, a grey v neck sweater and an Alber Elbaz-inspired bow-tie. Style Porn. Mmmmmmm!!!!

  1. Nice post, Nona. Although, I just can’t get my head around this sock trend. I’ve never been a huge fan of this look, and I’ve never seen it particularly cool or stylish. The only thing I see is either a schoolboy or Pippi Longstocking. Maybe it’s just me. :)

  2. “Pippi Longstocking and schoolboys” – Hahahahaha! So cute. I know. It kinda pulls you or pushes you this sock business. I was dubious at the beginning but after over exposure to it, I actually look at people without them on now and I can’t help but think: “hold on, there is something missing there but I can’t quite put my finger on it…” I am in owe at how they can make a pair of sandals look like boots if you match the colour of the shoe with the socks!!! Cheaper than buying a new pair o shoes me thinks. I am all up for giving them a go :) xx

  3. I looked via your prior posts. Great perform there….

  4. Good web page! Thank you!

  7. As being a Newbie, I am often researching on the web for posts that could support me. Thank you

  8. Once I bought those really cool pinkish knee socks— quite frankly, I looked like one of those quirky ‘hello kitty’ japanese girls …

Love the idea, but bloody hell it isnt working for me.
