Gisele Bundchen
I remember undertaking “walking classes” as part of both: my modelling classes – stick on the back included – at the age of 12 and again in my etiquette and protocol classes – heavy book on top of head included – at the age of 18. However, it is easy to forget the tricks if you don’t practice them daily.
So in a bid to talk the talk and walk the walk, is that I came across this interesting youtube video of the best catwalkers, which shows some of the best top models in the world strutting down the runway looking like sultry horses.
Whilst some of them may be gifted and may have been born with a natural ‘gait’, other have to be taught, hence the existence of walking coaches. As they say: “If you’ve got it… flaunt it and if you haven’t… fake it!
Ever heard of the existence of the “Versace walk”? Apparently a kind of va-va-boom and shake it walk. Or the “street walk” cold and quick, loose the swish and think streets of New York.

Whichever the individual style of their walk, what all the supermodels with the best walk seem to have in common is a well worked swagger or what is more… a haughty swagger, which they never seem to loose regardless of their choice of footwear be that heels, flats, wellies or even flip-flops!
And no, you don’t have to look like Coco Rocha or Gisele Bundchen to make a statement with the way you walk. It is all about your own inner grace and confidence, just like the natural confidence with which a lipizzan horse, a peacock or a tiger walks.

So, this week I am all for turning the streets of London into my very own catwalk, walking in the steps of a supermodel… without blinking and totally in love with myself!
